Hello fellow strip piecing lovers out there--I have gotten my blocks together (I had strip pieced them on telephone book paper which I cut into 8 1/2 " x 2 12" strips to use up a lot of scraps and strings I had leftover) and I am now auditioning fabrics for my borders.
This has been such a fun project; I started it after seeing Bonnie Hunter's video on using up scraps this way. I also have about 27 dark colored strip pieced blocks for the reverse--it will be a lap quilt for me; my own lap quilt is really wearing thin.
What do you think about the colors for the borders?
i also auditioned two other colors here:
But they just didn't seem to fit as well --altho' there are a lot of these colors in the blocks also....
Here is a closer look at the blocks and the two colors--I especially like that purpley blue...I will post when I get the back together.....in the meantime, in between time
you can see more about this on my blog...see ya'll
hugs to you all Julierose, La blageuse
It may sound crazy, but try a B/W check or dot for the inner border. That's my go-to solution when I have a lot of colors to pull together.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty colors. I have some sea glass just like it so I really enjoyed looking at your quilt. Thanks.
