I just finished a string quilt I'd finally gotten around to. I completed the top in January. The strings were stored in a plastic shoe box. They have been from two or three previous projects.
I have to say, I always love the blues and purples and the turquoise is a bonus color for me. Dang, I wish I had a place for this, but it will be a donation quilt.
The quilting was free form and I found myself making little swirls where the corners met! It's been awhile since I finished a quilt!
The top before quilting:
This was the last one I completed. It was for my granddaughter and started with the strings left over from a project a year ago.

Great purple quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove both those quilts! The meandering quilting really suits the purple quilt.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful! You used my favourite colours :)
ReplyDeleteGreat string quilt. The one for your granddaughter is fantastic. I love all the bright colors.
ReplyDeleteI like the blues with the purple too! I agree finishes don't come very often so when they do we need to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful quilt that will certainly be loved. How gracious of you to donate it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a stunning quilt!
