I finished this baby quilt while visiting Boston. Quilted on my daughter's featherweight.

Yellow and white string baby quilt |
At New Year's I sewed all my string scraps into 8.5" blocks by color. These are all the yellows and most of the white. Edit: The quilt finished about 41" square.

What a neat color combination.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super idea to take and sew like colors into string blocks...this one really came out beautifully... after my doing 35 of my blocks for Cassidy's quilt--i will need some "fun string work"...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteReally pretty. Great use of String blocks. Very curious, I know, but what was the finished size of your quilt?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and lovely quilting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking quilt! You've inspired me to play with my scraps and strings.
ReplyDeleteThe light strings play well with the yellow strings. I love how this baby quilt turned out.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful -- just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is very nice...great idea
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone, for the kind comments. There's a bit more information on my own blog. This was definitely the way to clear out the scrap bag. Some pieces were new but many had been passed over several times. Sewing them in color groups seems to be a good way to use them up.
ReplyDeleteI'll edit this post but the quilt is about 41" square from 8.5" unfinished blocks.
Again, a beauty. I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Perfect for a baby. I've been meaning to sew all my like-colored scraps together someday. You've reminded me!
