Things have been very-extra-stressful at the office
for the last few weeks.
When that happens, I turn to my string bins.
They energize and soothe me at the same time.
The overflowing box of strings was sorted into
smaller bins grouped by color family.
We all know strings can get messy in a big hurry.
This set-up helps me keep complete chaos at bay
but still lets me work freely.

I had cut enough base blocks to make a single large quilt.
As you can see in the first photo above,
I've changed my mind and will make two less-large quilts.
The blocks will finish at 9"
meaning one quilt will be 45" x 63"
and the other will be 36" x 45"
All in good time.

What a wonderful strings quilt. I love all these colors.
Love the developing quilts. I love the b&w print in the centers - continuity! I've only made one string block like yours, and I was quite disappointed with mine. I think I just need to make it some friends. LOL

I love the bright chevron design with the black and white stripe. Strings are so much fun with so many options. Great quilt.
Oh, yes!! Like everyone else, I love the way the black & white central string adds continuity and richness to the other fabrics. Great stress relief.
I'm so in love with string quilts, and this one is especially great!
Oh yummy!!! Heaven.
Beautiful! That stripe gives each block so much energy!!!

What wonderful, stringy fun! I usually do my string quilts as leader/enders. When it's late and I want something mindless that I can't make mistakes on, I do strings. You are going to convert me to bright colors! Does that mean I get to go to the Fabric "Thrift" Store more often? (Any excuse to buy fabric!)
String quilts are new to me - it looks really interesting though. I am gonna google it and find out more! Thanks for sharing. xCathy
