When I joined RSC15 I decided that I wanted to make a string quilt in a rainbow of colors.
I LOVE the "Eye of God" pattern--and I decided to pick randomly in each month's color depending upon how many scraps and Strings I have....February is PINK ................
AND JANUARY was blue:
I am keeping the center diagonals in orange-dark/ mauve as I have a lot of strings left in those colors.
Here is a closer view of some of those blues
AND
(Here you can see the darker mauve on the diagonal...)
Here are close ups of the pink colorways--all bits and pieces of leftovers and funny shaped pieces....
What fun!!
Some pretty old fabrics and some newer ones.........
Some are repeated and all just randomly picked out....
We will see how this goes together as the months go by...
I am so enjoying piecing these on little 3 1/2" squares of old telephone book papers.
I will remove the papers just before sewing the blocks together in groups of four....
hugs to you all on this snowy and frigid Monday
Julierose, La Blageuse
P.S. Hoping to see many more of your projects here this year.....;--)))

i do like the way you have two or three pops of pink and mauve in your blue blocks which then carry over into your pink string blocks - lovely.
I really like string quilts. A great way to use up scraps.
Wonderful string blocks, love them.
Such a clever idea to make small blocks. They will be a wonderful quilt by the end of the year. Hope to see more of it.
I am with you Juiierose, stitching to paper is so much fun! I hope to get back to my project later this week
Fun and scrappy blocks. Looking forward to seeing all your blocks come together.
Beautiful blocks with a beautiful name!
I didn't know the pattern is called 'The Eye of God'.
I love String Quilts and yours is another unique beauty, though not finished yet.
So clever of you to use old telephone book pages :>)
Cheers,
Jeanneke.
Thank you all ladies for your lovely comments...:--))) I am only sewing in little bits of time with all my family issues going on right now-so it's quick and easy--no stress (some mess haha) to whip one off...hugs to you all stay warm, Julierose
Love your string quilts. Would never have suspected they were so tiny! I adore small blocks. Yours are great.
Thanks Jennie! I have a lot of very tiny scraps and pieces of bindings that I want to use up!! Hugs, Julierose
Combining the RSC and strings is a great idea. I hope to be stringing along. Thanks for sharing ... :) Pat
I'm ready for using up some recently acquired scraps from projects over the winter.
And I'm adding your button to my bar.
Thanks for a great idea!
