Mother's Four Square Quilt

Mother has stuck with her string quilt and sewed and sewed. And now she already has it finished. We thought she was making this for charity; but recently I got to thinking that here she made this quilt when she is 87 years old, and I think  it needs to stay in the family as an heirloom. So she said I could have it. How about that?

It's beautiful, and I'm glad you are keeping it. My mom, age 92, has given up all sewing. She gave me her stash, which was very small. It was a sad moment, knowing we'll never have another thing that she sewed for us.

Your Mom is a dear! I vote for you getting the quilt, I'd ask her very nicely though, I know when my 87 yr old Mom gets her mind set on something it takes a bit of purrsuading to change it! Tell her I LOVE her string, it's beautiful. Ann in NC

Both your mother and the quilt she made are beautiful! How lucky you are to have both in your life. I've returned to look at the quilt several times and like it more each time. Vey well done!
