I made dozens of string blocks last fall and winter
for a group string project in my group.
The requirements were piecing bright strings with no blacks
onto an 8.5 inch foundation,
with a 1.5 inch white strip at the centre.
Together we made lots of blocks
enough for a 96 inch square quilt.
The woman who collected blocks put the together in groups of 16
and made a nine-patch with a dark green border and binding.
She quilted a loopy meander all over the quilt
and you can see the quilting better on the back,
which has a sunflower theme.
This was a great quilt to use up lots of narrow strings.
Most of my bits were 1 to 1.5 inches wide.

What a Beautiful quilt!
Truly a gorgeous color filled quilt! Just love the sparkle and movement.
Striking! I like the skinny strip-sashing to create the nine-patch.
Love how that white strip in the middle really pulls it all together--just a lovely finish! Hugs, Julierose
♥ String Quilts!
great quilt!
I love the bright colors and I love string quilts!
I have to get back to making string blocks, forgot how much fun they are. I have a lot but seeing your finished quilt makes me want to make even more.
It is beautiful!
Such a colourful quilt, and large! Love the way the blocks are set into a huge nine patch.
I like this group project. Scraps from several people plus the center white strings make a cheerful and more vibrant quilt. Congratulations on a beautiful finish.
I am just catching up here and this string quilt is stunning.
