Strings for QOV

These are the first four 12.5" string blocks
for a quilt top that will be donated to Quilts of Valor.

These are being pieced onto thin muslin.

One consistent 1.5" red string
plus a variety of scrappy blue strings
form the center for each block.

Thirty-five blocks will use up a LOT of scrappy
white-on-black and black-on-white strings.

The goal is a layout five blocks wide
by seven blocks long.

LOVE the way these look together!

Gorgeous blocks! You gave me such a great idea- if I use black and whites, I can stretch my limited amount of red and blue strips and make things more interesting. I am working on a triangle string zig zag thing I saw in an old book on string quilts. I will have to get my act together and photo it.
Love the blocks!!

I also sew for Quilts of Valor. One of my favorite quilts I made for them was a blue, green and aqua string quilt. It was hard to give that quilt up.
