Orca Bay Mystery

I just finished the top for the mystery quilt Bonnie Hunter ran in the fall. I made almost the entire thing with scraps and larger pieces from my own stash---it was a great feeling. I'd never tried string piecing before this. It's a great way to use of scraps and come out with an interesting quilt.

The quilt looks like stained glass in the photo. Very pretty. I have not gathered the courage to try stringing on paper. I still use muslin or "thin" fabric foundations. Joanne

Your quilt looks wonderful! Isn't it neat how she uses the string piecing in such a traditional looking block?

I recognize your quilt Ginny. I made an Orca too and named my quilt CherryLime Mash since I used pinks and lime green with chocolate browns and white. They were sooo much fun and I completely fell in love with strings then. I love your colors too.
