This is also a twist on the traditional Amish Roman Strings layout by incorporating the liberated HST row through the center of each block. I've seen a single solid color used before to form the secondary lattice design, but never a pieced strip.

For the record, I finally found my journal notes that prompted me to add the HST row in each block -- the idea came from an Anna Williams quilt.

Only fair to credit the one who inspired me to go for it.
